Default images not in correct directory / site?

Hello everyone,

I am quite new to DNN and NB Store but I love them already..

I have a test site installed locally being http://localhost/dotnetnuke/ however when I go to the utilities setting page and product page etc.. I cannot see the correct images.

they seen to have been installed correctly but the path mapping is incorrect. does anyone know where I can rectify this?

EG: installed DNN site is http://localhost/dotnetnuke/ but after installing NB Store module the image location is as follows http://localhost/images/help.gif and not http://localhost/dotnetnuke/images/help.gif as it is supposed to be.

if I go to http://localhost/dotnetnuke/images/help.gif then the help.gif file displays correctly but on the admin page it is pointing to http://localhost/images/help.gif

 

Any help would be great, thank you..

I have gone through the utilities settings and templates and cannot find a place to change the currency either, I am in South Africa and need South African Rands (R)

Hi,

For the currency you need to create a settnig called "currency.culture"...have a look at the documentation.html that is included in NB_Store install package for a explanation of all the settings.

As for the missing images....this is due to you running DNN as a virtual directory...try running DNN as a website root.  I know it's a poor solution, but it's usually how live websites are run, so most people avoid the virtual directory concept, even though that's how it's explaned in the DNN installation guide.  If you want to run multiple websites on you localhost have a look at this tool..http://iisadmin.codeplex.com

However I can understand the template and settings pages not displaying the icon, but as for the product page I'm surprised!!..this should resolve the path for the images...which images are you missing exactly??

P.S.  I'm re-writing the setting and template pages at the moment so the problem should be resolved in the next release of NB_Store.

Hi leedavi, Thank you for the information.. I will go read up some more and let you know if it sorted everything out. :-) 

I will try move my DNN site to the root site as well.

Hi leedavi,

I have moved my site the the root and installed the shop again.. and all seems to be working 100% now with regards to the images :-)

One last question for now... I have looked through the documentation and cannot find a way to add new forms of payment.
I want to add 2 extra methods of payment called "Cash on Delivery" and "Electronic Funds Transfer" both of these don't need any connection to banking systems etc..

The user will transfer money from their account to the store account and send proof of transfer via fax or email or they will pay for the goods when they are delivered.

How would I add these 2 new methods of payment?

Hi Clive,

At this point you have to combine those into a single method and use the standard cheque payment method for them. You'll need to change the email and checkout text and labels to suit both COD and EFT buyers, meaning the email they receive will contain instructions for both methods.

Thanks Rob, I was thinking along that route and you confirmed it for me :-)

I have yet another question..

When checking out, everything looks fine and is working, but when I get to the payment method, there is a "Bank Card: Please select type of payment" and then the EFT / COD link that is available.
Is there any way to remove "Bank Card: Please select type of payment" or change it to "Payment Type: Please select type of payment" or ideally just to have the EFT / COD link (old pay by cheque link)?

I see in the CheckOut.ascx.resx file that there is a lblBankCard.Text but where would one change the label?

Thanks again for all the help, the efficiency of the support is probably the best I have seen. I will definitely tell friends and colleagues about NB_Store and how great the support is. :-)

Hi Clive, That message is in the templates. You need to go into BackOffice>Utilities>Templates and change the template "gatewaymsg.text" Regards, Dave.

As easy as that..  LOL  Thanks Dave :-)  I was looking everywhere else but there.. even checked in the DB, thanks again.
