Disable Shipping

Apr 18, 2010 at 1:52 AM

I am using the Store module to sell courses and therefore don't need a shipping cost associated.

In my Models dropdown at the moment I have the display Student($220.00) $0.00, Member($250.00) $0.00.

Is there a way to disable the shipping cost of $0.00 from appearing in the list?

Hi,

The 0.00 is not the shipping, it's the discounted cost, this should only show is you have some discounts/promotions setup...it looks like 100% discount?

Have a look at you backoffice>Promotions and see if you have any promotions setup against these products.

I've just done a quick test on our test websites for this and everything seems to be working OK.

Dave.

Hi Dave

Hmm. That's interesting because I don't have any promotions setup. This was the behaviour I observed straight from install.

However it seems like something strange is happening because I have now setup a promotion (Category Discount) for April to subtract $10 from the product total. But this is not taking affect,

My model dropdown looks like this:

<option selected="selected" value="1">Student ($200.00) $0.00</option>
<option value="2">Member ($250.00) $0.00</option>

However from here the checkout shows the correct amount and applies the -$10.00

Description Price Qty Remove Total
22-23rd November 2010 Student.CxS $200.00 <input id="dnn_ctr479_CheckOut_cartlist1_dgCartList_ctl02_txtQty" style="width: 30px;" maxlength="6" name="dnn$ctr479$CheckOut$cartlist1$dgCartList$ctl02$txtQty" type="text" value="1" /> <input id="dnn_ctr479_CheckOut_cartlist1_dgCartList_ctl02_chkRemove" name="dnn$ctr479$CheckOut$cartlist1$dgCartList$ctl02$chkRemove" type="checkbox" value="on" /> $200.00

Any ideas?

Ok. I have an update on this.

Looks like when I am logged in as the Host user I see the model drop down as above.

However as a Guest the display is correct not sure if that is by design.

Ah!!.....I have another thought, it could be the dealer cost.
Have you got anything setup in the "dealer.role" setting and who are you logged in as?..host or admin??

Maybe we've got a clash if logged in as host or admin and the costs are to be displayed......Does it display OK if your not logged in??

Dave.

Hi,

I've just done a quick test and I think that's it....The store should work OK when running normally, it's just when you logged in as admin or host.

I'll put a fix in the next release.

Dave.
