Forms into Template?

Apr 21, 2010 at 2:52 PM

Hi,

Is it possible to generate small forms inside a detail template.

People can ask questions about that certain product.

The mail will be sent to the administrator with the id of the product + a link to te product and with the name / email /.... / question that the person asks.

Is this possible ?

small example:  http://www.motodeluxe.be/pd/389/nl-BE/motorfiets-batterijen/YT4L-BS

Hi Ely,

Not directly through NB_Store, but you could have the product detail on a seperate page to the productlist and then simply use a normal DNN form module.

Of course you wouldn;t be able to pick and choose when the form appears......unless you have different pages for different categories (with or without form)!!

Or I suppose you could code (or buy, if it exist) a wrapper to place the form module in that will only display on certain products, using the productid passed in the url.

Dave.

I suppose this also gives you a problem of how do you know what product the question is about??

Hi David,

That is true, is there any possible way to have this in the near future in NBStore ?

We'll put this on the roadmap, although I think in this case it's more of a satilite module for NB_Store and not part of the installation.  The productID can be picked up from the url and therefore after it's just a case of reading the product table and adding it to the subject/content of the email.

Hi Dave,

I would like to continue asking another question here:

I have an example of the webshop again: http://www.motodeluxe.be/

If you see at the bottom right conrner (Promo and New)

Is it possible to show new items + promo items in a product list with images ?

Ely

Yes, just add the productlist module and set the display mode to feature only, then check the product you want to display in the featured list as featured.

Dave.

Can I show the images new and promo somehow to featured and new products only ?

Yes, but the solution is a bit more work..

1 - create a checkboxs or radio button  as custom fields, which approiate values.

2 - use the tokens  -

[TAG:XMLDATA:<xpath>] - xmlpath should always start with "genxml" and be in lowercase. (e.g. "[TAG:XMLDATA:genxml/textbox/txttitle]")
[TAGXML:xslfilename] - token used to run xsl in template (use debug.mode to get example of xml output into portal root.)

to create your image in your templates....something like  <img src="/portal/0/img/[TAG:XML:genxml/checkbox/chkPromo].gif />

Obviously this is off the top of my head, you'll have to play around abit.

Dave.

P.S.  If you use the XSL option you can get a lot more control..
